H3X in 2025: A Year in Review

H3X Technologies

2025 wrap - what a year!

Over the last 12 months, we transitioned from proving capability to building the foundation for scale. We invested heavily in product development, manufacturing readiness, test infrastructure buildout, and reliability —laying the groundwork for sustained growth in the years ahead.

The Electric Tech Stack is the new industrial foundation, and we are operating at the intersection of several mega-trends unfolding in real-time: electrification and hybridization across aerospace and defense, the revitalization of US shipbuilding, and the rapidly growing need for more power across data center and industrial applications.

Importantly, we are now on contract with industry-leading partners at the forefront of these trends, anchoring our production scale-up. Customer conversations have shifted from “we’d like to test one?” to delivery schedules, production capacity, and unit economics.

H3X is at an inflection point.

Highlights from the year:

  • Expanded our product lineup with three new industry leading motors: HPDM-180, HPDM-90S, and HPDM-500. The HPDM-500 is stackable and enables entry into the MW-class market.
  • Secured contracts with 12 world-class customers (including 3 defense primes), validating strong demand across our target markets.
  • Entered the hybrid powerplant market with HPDG-30, and achieved industry-leading power density and specific fuel consumption. Accumulated over 35 hours of runtime at max power.
  • Completed NASA Phase II-E contract and 2/3 of our Air Force TACFI contract, advancing hybrid-electric propulsion for defense applications.
  • Successfully completed the first flight of H3X hardware with Hermeus.
  • Commissioned 4 dyno test stands and built our automated test infrastructure from the ground up — combining custom hardware, software, and cloud-based data platforms — to enable rapid iteration, high-throughput R&D validation as well as production end-of-line testing at scale.
  • Vertically integrated rotor grinding and balancing — improving cost, lead time, and process control.
  • Built our first multi-sector machine (HPDM-350) and proved out multi-sector droop control algorithm
  • Re-engineered our core electromagnetic designs to reduce cost by 70–80% while improving reliability and maintaining > 10 kW/kg continuous (motor + power electronics)
  • Expanded the team to 57 people, adding top talent from Tesla and SpaceX.
  • Celebrated H3X’s 5-year anniversary.

The past year was about building the foundation.

The next phase is about delivering at scale.

Thank you to everyone who made 2025 our strongest year yet!
